More than 1000 residents have signed a petition calling on Translink to find an alternative site for their bus depot in the Short Strand.
They want the land to be used by the community for housing and other amenities.
This afternoon a number of the local residents staged a protest outside the Department for Infrastructure building in Belfast, before handing in the petition.
