Two men have been arrested following reports a man armed with a sword assaulted another man in Larne.
Police say the 38 year old suffered minor injuries in the alleged incident.
The suspect made off in a black car before police arrived.
A vehicle matching its description was then tracked down by police, and a samurai sword was recovered.
A PSNI statement said:
"Shortly after 12.20pm police received a report that a man armed with a sword was assaulting another man on Glynn Road. A 38 year old male sustained a number of minor injuries to his body as a result of the assault. The suspect had made off in a black coloured car before the arrival of police."
"A car matching the description was stopped by police in east Belfast some time later and a 32 year old male arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, common assault, theft and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence. A samurai sword was also recovered from the car. A 27 year old male who was driving the car was arrested on suspicion of driving when unfit through drink or drugs."
"Both males remain in police custody at this time."
