A number of homes had been evacuated.
Police cordons have been lifted and the roads have now been re-opened to the public.
The object has been taken away for further examination and officers would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or anyone with any information about this incident, to contact them quoting reference number 318 of 23/04/21.
