Coleraine Coatguard and Portrush Lifeboat rescue three anglers from a small motor boat
The Coleraine Coastguard along with the Portrush inshore Lifeboat were called to the Ramore Head are on Saturday, after reports of a small motor vessel in difficulty. Upon arrival they saw that three anglers who had been on the boat had scrambled on to the safety of the rocks at Ramore Head.
It appears that they had a lucky escape as their boat had lost the ability to manouevre, before being swamped by the heavy ocean swell. The Portrush Lifeboat was able to attach a line to the stricken vessel and tow the, by then half-submerged, boat into Portrush Harbour. The craft was then recovered at the slipway.
