Three men have been arrested in connection with cheque frauds in Downpatrick.
An investigation was launched after a company in Saintfield reported company cheques were being used without its knowledge or authorisation.
Detective Sergeant James Johnston said: “A report was made to police in August... An investigation was immediately started, with our enquiries leading us to eight searches being carried out and the arrest of three men in north and east Belfast on Friday 8th September.
He continued, "The men, two aged 24 and one aged 25, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including theft, fraud and handling stolen goods. All three have since been released on police bail as our enquiries into the matter continue.”
