Tributes have poured in throughout the North Coast following the death of Reece Meenan. Reece died after being struck by a car in Coleraine on Saturday evening.
A year 10 pupil at Loreto College Coleraine, a spokesperson for the school the called Reece an "extremely likeable and popular pupil." THey added that Reece would 'be desperately missed by both students and pupils."
Sports club Eoghan Rua called Reece a 'lively energetic footballer.' Reece represented the under-14's in each of the last two seasons for Eoghan Rua.
While a spokesperson for Castlerock golf club, where Reece was a junior member, said he would be 'sadly missed." Adding that the whole club was in a state of shock. Reece also played football for Bertie Peacocks youths, with the club saying they have been "left devastated by the tragedy."
A 23 year old man arrested in Magherafelt after the incident, has been released on police bail, pending further inquiries
