The death of the Reverend Canon Noel Moore took place at his home on Tuesday. The well-known minister was first ordained in 1957 and served as a Rector at three parishes across the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe. A Service of Thanksgiving is to be held later today.
The death has taken place in Tyrone of the Reverend Canon Noel Moore, who served as Rector of three parishes in the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe during more than 40 years in ministry.
"Canon Moore passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday of this week," read a statement issued by the Diocese.
"Canon Moore was ordained for the curacy in the Parish of Templemore (St Columb's Cathedral, Londonderry) on 21st September 1957.
"He was Rector of the Parish of Clondehorkey (Ballymore) from 1960-66, Rector of Stranorlar from 1966-76, and Rector of Glendermott and Newbuildings from 1976-2000," the statement continued.
A Service of Thanksgiving will be held in St Andrew's Church, Killyman, today at 2.00pm.
