A woman in her fifties has died in hospital after a road traffic collision in Laurencetown in County Down.
It happened on the Banbridge Road at around half past five on Wednesday evening.
The victim's been named as Cindy Greer, from the Gilford area.
Local Councillor Seamus Doyle says it's heartbreaking for the close-knit community.
Police have released a statement: Police can confirm that 58 year old Cindy Greer from the Gilford area has died in hospital following a road traffic collision on the Banbridge Road in Laurencetown on Wednesday 3rd October.
Cindy was driving a Red Honda Civic which collided with a white Ford Transit van at around 5.30pm on Wednesday evening.
The driver of the Transit Van was treated for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Banbridge Road around the time of the collision and who saw either vehicle, or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the collision to contact officers in the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 969 03/10/18.
The Greer amily have asked for privacy at this sad time.
