Ballymena United hammered Institute 6-1 in Tuesday night's Danske Bank Premiership match at the Showgrounds.

Ryan Mayse scored twice as the Sky Blues bounced back in style from Saturday's defeat against Glentoran.

The victory moves David Jeffrey's team to within six points of leaders Linfield with six games to play - including the April 5th Showgrounds showdown between the top two.

In the other mid-week game, third-placed Crusaders fought back from a goal down at the interval to win 3-1 away to fellow Irish Cup semi-finalists Warrenpoint Town.
