Glentoran has announced the club is now debt free.

It once owed close to £2m and in September 2018 a creditor seized control of The Oval and locked the gates of the stadium.

The Glens had been struggling on the pitch, but there's been a dramatic transformation in fortunes, helped by a major cash injection last year.

The club is now top of the Danske Bank Premiership and into the quarter-finals of the Irish Cup.

Investor Ali Pour says he's been inspired by the revival.

Chairman Stephen Henderson is calling this a monumental day.

Manager Mick McDermott says the club will now move forward to make the project successful.

The Glens are involved in a battle for the Premiership title.

Linfield could move a point ahead of their rivals on Tuesday night with a home win over Dungannon Swifts.

The Blues were well beaten in their last game at Larne and manager David Healy says a big improvement is needed...

Also on Tuesday evening, fifth-placed Cliftonville welcome Carrick Rangers to Solitude.

Warrenpoint Town have hit out after trouble flared at the end of their Irish Cup tie against Ballymena United on Saturday.

The club claims Point goalkeeper Mark Byrne was assaulted and was the victim of sectarian abuse after Ballymena's winning goal.

Byrne was sent off following scuffles involving players and supporters at Milltown.

Ballymena have denied there were sectarian comments directed towards the young keeper.

In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, the Sky Blues also said they were "extremely disappointed at the contents of the statement issued by Warrenpoint."
