Perry Fitzpatrick has revealed the 'Line of Duty' stars are waiting until June 21 to get their matching "AC12million" tattoos.

The stars of 'Line of Duty' are hoping a Freedom Day delay won’t stop them getting matching tattoos.

Perry Fitzpatrick has revealed the lead stars of the hit crime drama - including Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar as well as show writer Jed Mercurio - are waiting until June 21 for the country to fully re-open after the COVID-19 pandemic before they make true on their promise to get matching tattoos.

The ink will read "AC12million" as both a nod to the anti-corruption unit in the show, AC-12, and the impressive 12.8 million viewing figures drawn in by the series six finale.

Perry told the Daily Mirror: “They’re up for it. I wouldn’t rule it out. They’re probably waiting for the world to open up, so they can all go to the same person and have it done together for sure.

“Otherwise one of them would end up doing it and the others would pull out.”

His comments come after Martin Compston revealed the pledge he made with his co-stars in a social media post last month.

He wrote: “Hey folks now the madness is slightly dying down just want to thank everybody who reached out about last night and the series as a whole, we’ve truly been blown away by the reaction and love for the show we’re proud of it. Fully understand it wasn’t the ‘urgent exit’ type ending some anticipated but we appreciate you sticking with us

“Felt many emotions from excitement and anxiety at the hype to relief that it’s over. Now I just feel immense pride our show that started on Wednesday’s on BBC2 has just smashed every overnight drama record since they began. “Finally myself, Vicky, Adrian and Jed made an agreement in the inconceivable and ridiculous scenario we ever got twelve million viewers we would get ‘AC12million’ tattoos. We’ll see who’s good to their word…… (sic)”

However, as Perry's character, DS Lomax, is not part of AC12, he quipped he might some ink of his own.

He added: “I might get MIT or cheers written across my knuckles.”
