A 102-year-old woman has been robbed of her pension at her home in Larne.
At around 5pm yesterday evening, a man believed to be in his 40s wearing a blue yacht cap and a fleece knocked on the back door of the pensioners house, in a small estate close to Magheramore House.
The lady was on her own at the time and opened the door, letting the man enter.
Police say the suspect demanded cash and she handed over £1000, believed to be her pension.
Detective Sergeant Leighanne Robinson says, "The householder was understandably left extremely shaken by the ordeal.
“It is absolutely despicable and morally reprehensible that a vulnerable older person has been targeted by an unscrupulous criminal.
"Taking pension money is unconscionable.
“I am appealing to the community to help us identify and locate the person responsible.
