Seven additional train services between Belfast and Newry is 'small but welcome progress.'
That's the reaction from activists for better rail services here, 'Newry on Track'.
It's after Translink confirmed that new commuter and weekend services will be introduced from this summer.
A spokesperson said, "These include an early morning express service from Newry to Belfast (6:30am), an additional evening train from Belfast to Newry for commuters (6:20pm) and an extra late evening service from Belfast to Newry (10:10pm).
"Further enhancements include additional Saturday services from Newry to Belfast (7:45am) and Belfast to Newry (5:30pm and 10:10pm).
A spokesperson for Newry on Track told Q Radio that they'll "continue to campaign for services that currently go to and from Portadown to be extended to Newry."
