The army bomb squad was called out thirty times in Mid-Ulster within the last three years.
One of the call-outs resulted in the discovery of a viable device – that was in 2014.
The rest were hoaxes.
There have been more than six hundred and thirty alerts in Northern Ireland since January 2014.
The figures have been obtained in a Freedom of Information request by Q Radio News.
A senior police officer says a large proportion of resources are spent dealing with such alerts.
