The Portrush Public Realm Scheme remains on schedule to start in September, according to Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
Planning permission will now be sought for the revised scheme.
It's rejected the original controversial plan of closing off much of Main Street to traffic during the summer.
Alderman Norman Hillis and around fifty others viewed the plans at Portrush Town Hall on Thursday night.
