Bishop John McAreavey has been forced to deny rumours masses will be axed.
It follows reports that dwindling numbers at mass were forcing priests out of the diocese of Dromore.
The report in a local newspaper claimed a review into the allocation of priests is underway.
It encouraged parishioners to go to mass or 'face losing them'.
Bishop McAreavey has rubbished the claims saying,
'There are no plans to change Mass arrangements in the South Down area.'
