The body of man shot dead by a controversial Army unit over forty-years ago is to be exhumed today.
18-year-old Daniel Rooney was shot in west Belfast in September 1972.
The exhumation's part of a police investigation into the Military Reaction Force.
There are claims it carried out unjustified shootings during the Troubles.
Pádraig Ó Muirigh is the solicitor for the Rooney family.
He said: "There are two ongoing aspects to this. The first is the inquest directed by the Attorney General in 2014 after an application from our office.
"That inquest is yet to be listed for hearing so this potential new evidence could assist that process.
"There's also an ongoing police investigation after a request by the director of the public prosecutions" he added.
