Bottle smashed on head of pregnant woman during Newcastle aggravated burglary

A pregnant woman has been left shaken after an aggravated burglary in Newcastle.

It happened in the Burren Meadow area at around 5:35am on Sunday morning.

She received non-life threatening injuries after she was punched. and had a bottle smashed on her head by a man who broke in.

Her young daughter was also present.

A 35-year-old man was arrested a short time later in the area of Westland Avenue.
