A teenager has died after a collision with a car in Castlewellan.

Marc Quinn was walking on the Newcastle Road during the early hours of Sunday morning when the incident happened.

The 18-year-old from the local area was treated at the scene but died in hospital a short time later.

Local MLA Colin McGrath says it is a heart-breaking tragedy:

Update: Police have confirmed the young man who died following a collision on the Newcastle Road in Castlewellan in the early hours of this morning was 18-year-old Marc Garry Quinn from the Castlewellan area.
