Claudy securty alert declared hoax

A suspicious object discovered in Claudy last night has been declared a hoax.

The Glenshane Road was closed following the discovery but it has since re-opened.

A PSNI spokesperson says the object was examined and "determined" to be a hoax.

It has been taken away for further examination.
