The future of cross-border projects here's been put under the spotlight in Brussels.
An event was organised there by Armagh-based Centre for Cross Border Studies.
East Border Region is made up of three council bodies in Northern Ireland and three in the south.
Chief Executive of the cross border body Pamela Arthurs says "EU funded cross-border projects have contributed millions to the area."
and that she "doesn't want that important work to stop".
She added, "There's a danger... that we go back to the days of the peripherality where the border region was an area that was forgotten about. And we're concerned that that may happen in the future, unless there is a clear commitment that the border region will not suffer."
