A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a police officer was carried on the bonnet of a car for 30 metres in Derry/Londonderry on Monday.
The incident happened on the Skeoge Link Road when police were told about a grey Audi being driven erratically just before midday.
The Audi then stopped, and police tried to speak to the driver - however he drove off and the car hit an officer on his arm while a second officer, who was in front of the vehicle, was forced onto the bonnet and carried for approximately 20 to 30 metres before coming off and landing on the ground as the man drove off at speed in the direction of the Buncrana Road.
The arrested man remains in custody.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone who captured the incident on their dash cam, or mobile phone is asked to get in touch.
