Detectives have begun an attempted murder inquiry in Bangor after a man was left in a critical condition in hospital.
Just before 4 o clock this morning police received a report regarding concerns for the safety of a man at an address in the Fern-more Road area of the north Down resort.
Officers attended and found a man, in his twenties, with serious head injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
