For the first time in history a father and son will be awarded Blue Plaques on the same building.
The first was installed on Newry's Bridge House four years ago in memory of Max Blayney who was awarded a George Cross.
He was a bomb disposal expert in World War I and was killed during the Blitz of 1940.
Today his father Charles Blayney, who was Newry's Town Surveyor for 57 years and pioneered social housing and public services, will be remembered with his own Blue Plaque, awarded by the Ulster History Circle.
A ceremony, open to the public, to unveil the Blue Plaque will take place at Bridge House in Bridge Street at 2pm today (Friday).
