The engine room of a ferry caught fire in Larne Harbour this afternoon.
Emergency services were tasked to the incident just after half 4.
The blaze was extinguished by the ship’s crew and internal fire suppression system.
There are no reports of any injuries.
A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Spokesperson said:
“NIFRS received a call at 4:32pm today (31 March 2019) to attend an incident involving a fire in the engine room of a ferry ship. A full attendance was mobilised."
“NIFRS currently have 3 Fire Appliances in attendance. "
“The fire was extinguished by the ship’s crew and internal fire suppression system. NIFRS are liaising with other agencies on the scene."
“There are no reported injuries and all persons are accounted for.”
