Eight footballers have been rescued off the coast of County Donegal after being dragged out to sea by a riptide.
The incident happened when they entered the water to cool down after training at Bundoran this morning (Sat).
Onlookers called the Coast Guard and RNLI Bundoran Lifeboat. The 118 rescue helicopter from Sligo was also scrambled.
Quick thinking surfers, one of whom is a crew member of Bundoran RNLI, went on their boards to help the footballers to safety.
A number of the players were taken to Sligo University Hospital as a precaution.
