Four people had to be rescued after a boat got into difficulty on the River Foyle.
Foyle Search and Rescue was called out shortly before midnight, however were unable to proceed due to tidal conditions.
"After notifying Harbour Radio of the situation, FSR Emergency Response Team was activated along with Swiftwater Rescue Team & FSR Boat Co Ordinator." said a Foyle Search and Rescue spokesperson. " A detailed assessment was made on scene and an operation to secure the boat & transfer all four crew from the vessel by FSR to land was put into effect,”
At 6am on Sunday the rescue service returned to the scene, where the vessel had re-floated. The boat was towed to the main channel.
It was able to proceed on its journey under its own power.
