It’s been confirmed that the speed limit is to be permanently reduced on the Cookstown to Moneymore dual carriageway.
Yesterday, we reported that motorists had expressed confusion on social media following the sudden appearance of the signs.
Up until last week the 70mph speed limit applied.
However in a statement to Q Radio, the Department For Infrastructure says the new speed limit will be 60mph to improve road safety.
It says once in place the sighs will be enforceable by the police.
The carriageway has been the scene of several fatalities over the years.
