A male has been arrested by detectives investigating the report of a serious sexual assault on a female in Belfast on Wednesday.
Its reported to have happened at the Waterworks area of the Cavehill Road.
He is currently in police custody.
Detective Inspector Zoe McKee would appeal to anyone who was in the Waterworks area at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, 17 May and may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to contact Police at the Rape Crime Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1357 17/05/17.
Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
