A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found with serious injuries at a property in Belfast.
Detectives are appealing for information following the serious assault on Thursday.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “At approximately 11.20pm, police were called to a property in the Montrose Street area following the report of an injured woman.
“Officers attended and discovered a woman with serious injuries to her head and back.
“A man aged 42 was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody at this time.
“Inquiries are ongoing and detectives would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact 101, quoting reference number 2205 of February 29.”
