A 30 year old man has been arrested, following a report of a robbery which occurred at the Donegall Street area of Belfast on Saturday 5th December.
Detective Sergeant Natalie Moore said: “Shortly after 4:50pm, it was reported that a man in his 50’s was assaulted at an entry in the area. He is believed to have been struck on the head with a metal plate by a man during the incident. The man then made off with a sum of money and a wallet towards the North Queen Street area following the incident. The man who was assaulted, was left badly shaken but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
“A man was later arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to the incident. He is currently in police custody at this time.
“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1121 05/12/20.
