A man in his forties has suffered cuts to his face after being assaulted by two masked men at his home in the Kerrera Mews area of Belfast shortly after 8:15 last night.
The two suspects were armed with a knife and a claw hammer, which the man was struck with, leaving him with a cut to his face.
Detective Sergeant Danielle Nugent said: "At this stage it is not believed any items were taken.
“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact Detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1720 14/10/20.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
