A man has been assaulted by a group of masked men armed with a knife and bat in west Belfast.
The 23 year-old was walking down Roden Street with friends when a black BMW pulled up beside him and five men got out.
The victim recieved injuries to his head and shoulder in the incident.
Two other people who were with the injured party, were left very badly shaken by the ordeal.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or the black BMW to contact Police at Woodbourne PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1519 03/05/16. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
