Man detained on drugs offences in Derry

A man has been arrested in Derry - Londonderry after a police search uncovered sixty suspected class B drugs.

Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Officers say the man was spotted acting suspiciously on the Buncrana Road on Sunday night.

He attempted to make off from officers through wasteland in Galliagh before police caught up with him at Whitehouse.

Police say in addition to suspected drugs offences, the man was already wanted for a number of car offences including theft.
