A man in his 20's has died following a crash on the A1 between Banbridge and Dromore.
The two-vehicle collision happened at around 23.30 on Wednesday evening close to the junction of the Half way Road.
The deceased has been named as 27 year-old Karl Heaney, who was from the Warrenpoint area.
He was driving a Ford Fusion when it collided with a black Kia Ceed.
The 32 year-old driver of the Kia and a woman driving a red Kio Rio have been arrested on suspicion of a number of motoring offences.
Both suspects are in police custody.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is being urged to contact police using the non emergency 101 number.
The A1 has now re-opened to traffic.
