Man shot during altercation in Derry-Londonderry

A man has been injured in a paramilitary-style shooting in Derry-Londonderry.

It happened during an altercation between two men close to the Ringfort Road roundabout just before half two this afternoon.

A man carrying a yellow plastic bag was shot in the leg by a second man, who made off on foot with what's believed to be a handgun.

The Aileach Road is also closed in both directions, from its junction with O’Connor Court, to the roundabout close to O’Naullian Crescent.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
