Man taken to hospital after pick axe attack in Larne

A man has been left injured and woman and children traumatised after an attack with bats and pick axe handles in Larne.

It happened in St. John's Place in the early hours of this morning.

A number of masked men forced entry to the house at around half past two and attacked the man.

The victim's been left with a number of injuries including a suspected broken leg and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

It's thought the perpetrators left in a car after the incident.
