A woman in her eighties is in a stable condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Newtownards.
The collision happened on the Bangor Road yesterday afternoon.
A man in his fifties has been arrested - and is currently assisting police with enquiries.
Sergeant Morris-Dickson said: “A woman in her 80’s has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in the area. Her condition is now described as stable at this time.
“One man aged in his 50’s has been arrested in relation to the incident. He is currently in police custody.”
“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage available to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 776 17/1/19.”
