A security alert is underway in Limavady.
The alarm was raised earlier today following the discovery of a suspicious object in the Moneyrannel Road area.
Local MLA John Dallat says it shines a bad light on the area at a time when thousands of tourists are close by for the Open Golf Tournament:
A PSNI statement said:
"Police are currently in attendance at a security alert in the vicinity of the Moneyrannel Road in Limavady following the report of a suspicious object.
A number of roads have been closed and diversions are in place.
There are no further details at this time."
