Sinn Fein says it's been made aware the Western Trust has recalled 37 heart patients after concerns relating to two were raised earlier this year.
MLA Colm Gildernew says it surrounds the condition, aortic stenosis the most common type of heart valve disease in the elderly.
He's said: "The concerns are centred on the follow-up care and the monitoring of patients.
"The Trust have reviewed the files of patients suffering from the condition in the Fermanagh area and have decided to recall a total of 37 patients.
"These reviews need to be carried out as quickly as possible and the Trust need to communicate in a full and transparent manner with the patients and their families.
"The well-being of patients must be the primary focus in the days ahead and the circumstances surrounding the recall must be thoroughly investigated and communicated to the public."
We've contacted the Western Trust for a statement.
