Police have recently been made aware that a small number of fake bank notes have been circulating in the Strabane area.
As a result locals are being urged to be vigilant on the run up to Christmas.
A PSNI spokesperson has asked businesses and those in the retail sector to report anything suspicious:
"It's that time of year again folks when we all wish we could print some of our very own cash! Police know however that some do indeed attempt this in an effort to make Christmas even more jolly, and are aware of a small number of counterfeit notes surfacing in the Strabane area.
Therefore we request that the public, and in particular those working in the business and retail sector remain vigilant and report anything suspicious, especially in the run up to Christmas when this type of crime becomes more prevalent."
