A suspect device found in Strabane has been declared a hoax.
Police have been at the footbridge where the object was spotted last night.
A search had been continuing overnight until this afternoon.
MLA Daniel McCrossan's told Q Radio those behind it have no support from anyone.
A police spokesperson said, “We understand the frustrations felt yesterday and today by the local community but the police response was necessary to ensure everyone’s safety. “The responsibility for the disruption lies with those who left this hoax device in the area and I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact us on 101.”
