Two people have been charged in connection with a hammer attack in Newry which left a man requiring hospital treatment.
The incident happened in the Cleary Crescent area of the City in the early hours of Wednesday 29th May.
A 15-year-old old boy has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a Class B controlled drug.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
The two suspects are expected to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court later this morning.
As is normal, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
A 17-year-old man appeared at Newry Magistrates' Court on Thursday 30th May and a 29-year-old arrested was released on bail pending further enquiries in relation to the incident.
