A two day operation targeting the activities of dissident Republicans in a border area of County Louth has now ended.
It follows a "significant" weapons haul yesterday during searches near Omeath, on the Cooley Peninsula.
During the investigation, officers recovered a substantial quantity of ammunition of varied calibre, along with a suspected mortar tube.
The Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team travelled to the scene to assist gardai and a cordon was put in place.
The operation was led by members of the Garda Special Detective and Emergency Response Units.
No arrests were made.
Gardaí have said they can't provide any further information because of " operational reasons".
