Two twenty-somethings held in connection with two separate finds valued at £80,000 and £120,000.

A twenty-three year-old man was due in court yesterday in Omagh on charges related to the discovery of cannabis and cutting agent.

That's after police stopped and searched a van on the Great Northern Road near the town shortly before three o'clock last Friday.

"Approximately £120,000 of suspected herbal Cannabis as well as approximately 13 kilograms of suspected cutting agent for class A drugs were seized," said Detective Inspector Tom McClure.

Police say searches were carried out at a number of houses in Derry on Friday evening following the seizure. Saying a small amount of cannabis as well as a mobile phone were confiscated.

"Our investigation is at an early stage. We continue our efforts to keep people safe by removing drugs from the streets and arresting anyone suspected of involvement in their supply. I appeal to anyone who has any concerns or information about illegal drugs to contact their local Police on the non-emergency number 101.

"Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111," added DI McClure.

It's the second large seizure of the class B drug in the Omagh area in only a matter of days.

£80,000-worth of cannabis and diazepam tablets as well as a "significant" sum of cash were seized by officers following searches of houses last Wednesday.

Another twenty-three year-old man was due to appear at Strabane Magistrates Court on Thursday in connection with that find.
