A woman in her 20's has been seriously assaulted in Derry/Londonderry.
The incident happened around 5.25am in the Carnhill area of the city.
Police were called after reports of a disturbance in the area.
It's thought a number of men may have carried out the attack.
The woman sustained injuries to her head and face.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Carnhill early this morning
and who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the
investigation to contact detectives in Strand Road on 101 quoting reference 297 21/10/2017.
