Glentoran are through to the quarter-finals of the Bet McLean League Cup after beating Glenavon in a penalty shoot-out on Wednesday night.

Patrick McClean hit the winning spot kick in Lurgan for the east Belfast side. 

Ballymena's Bermuda international striker Jonte Smith struck twice including a late winner as the Sky Blues won 3-2 after extra-time at Crusaders. 

Holders Coleraine had a 2-0 victory at Carrick Rangers, with Matthew Shevlin scoring both goals. 

Warrenpoint beat Loughgall 1-0 at Milltown thanks to an early goal from Thomas Maguire.
