Former Tyrone footballer Richard Thornton has become the latest addition to the Donegal backroom team.

That’s ahead of the new season.

He joins in a coach capacity under manager Rory Gallagher.

Thornton replaces Westmeath's Jack Cooney who has just completed two seasons in the position.

He’s a teacher at St Joseph’s College in Coalisland.

Thornton played one year at senior level with Tyrone but was forced to call time on his career due to injury.
