12 arrests in Mid Ulster at weekend police handled 191 calls for assistance

12 arrests were made in Mid Ulster over the weekend period.

According to a PSNI spokesperson they were for the following offences:

1 x Grievous Bodily Harm and Breach of Bail - then re-arrested for damage to a police vehicle

2 x excess alcohol whilst driving

1 domestic incident for common assault

1 x AOABH

1 x disorderly behaviour and two assaults on police

1 x "simple" drunk 

1 x breach pf a Non Molestation Order from a domestic incident 

1 x criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon

1 x common assault 

1 x criminal damage and assault on police - disorderly behaviour 

1 x Fraud - using a false instrument with intent to obtain a driving license 


The PSNI were also called to the following incidents: 

11 x ASB - noise issues with neighbours, littering, underage drinking

6 x calls about cattle on rural roads - secured in fields after - and 3 horses running on the road in Dungannon (also secured)

2 x Missing children - located & police escort home

2 x Thefts

1 x Burglary and 1 Attempted Burglary commercial premises

3 x Wildlife issues

3 x Licensed premises checks Dungannon area & will be continuing

2 x Facebook Scams

6 x Concerns for safety, suicidal members of the public & 2 drunk males on the road

1 x Theft of Lambs (highlighted on Magherafelt's Facebook page)

3 x Suspicious vehicles - needed checked out

5 x Road Traffic Accidents Damage Only

1 x Driver reported for careless driving 

1 x Road Traffic Accident Injury

1 x Ambulance tasked for a male on nightlife duties, conscious and breathing but unresponsive


A spokesperson for the police said: 

"Then we were happy to assist the NIFRS for a tractor on fire, help close roads for accidents, contact local Council regarding issues presented, social services referrals of kids, deal with traffic offences, contact Recovery Operators for vehicles and conduct vehicle check points."
