A 25-year-old woman from Londonderry has died in a car crash in Co Donegal.
The two-car collision happened at Fahan, outside Buncrana, just before eleven o'clock on Thursday night.
The woman, who was driving one of the cars, was fatally injured.
The driver of the other car, a 20-year-old man, was not seriously hurt.
Fth Michael Canny, who spent time with the woman's family, said her death will be ''sorely felt by her relatives''.
"The mother and sister were waiting for her to come from work, and the doorbell rang and it was a PSNI officer to tell them the bad news.
"Family members started to arrive and Christmas cards, lights and trees were being taken down because the terrible tragic events had overtaken the family.
"It's one of those situations of just disbelief, of numbness. At the same time reality is striking...every so often that it couldn't be true but it was true, and the terrible dawning of reality is that life will never be the same again".
Police in the Republic have appealed for witnesses.
